Approvals and Recommendations

The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Dimapur district convened on Monday at the DC conference hall, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman Dr. Tinojongshi Chang. The board reached the following decisions:

School Upgradation: The proposal to upgrade Itiki Montessori School at Darogapathar to Class 8 received approval and will be forwarded for further action.

Society Registration: The registration of “Vision for Change,” a society based in Hill View Colony, was approved and will be submitted for official registration.

Road Renaming: The board sanctioned the proposal to rename a road within the East Dimapur Town Council’s jurisdiction.

 

Discussion on Administrative Expansion

The meeting included a discussion regarding the establishment of a separate administrative headquarters for East Dimapur. To assess the feasibility of this proposal, the board decided to form a dedicated committee for in-depth study.

Advisor’s Address: Teamwork, Leadership, and Preparedness

Advisor for Industries and Commerce and MLA, Hekani Jakhalu, graced the meeting with her presence. She emphasized the importance of teamwork among officers to enhance the district’s reputation. Highlighting Dimapur’s pivotal role as the state’s “nerve centre,” she urged the administration to set a positive example for other districts.

 

Jakhalu also stressed the urgent need for monsoon preparedness and requested its inclusion as an agenda item for the next meeting. She lauded the impactful work of women officers, particularly those from DHEW and Sakhi OSC, and encouraged greater inter-departmental collaboration.

 

Reflecting on the responsibilities of government servants, Jakhalu described them as public leaders and “divine stewards,” inspiring the officers to continue their service to the community with sincerity and faith.

 

Upcoming Presentations and Next Meeting

The meeting concluded with the announcement that the Department of Power and PWD will deliver PowerPoint presentations at the subsequent DPDB meeting. The session was attended by all district heads.

 

Tseminyu DPDB Meeting Scheduled

Separately, the District Planning Officer and Member Secretary of DPDB Tseminyu, Meyikokba Jamir, informed all concerned DPDB members about their upcoming monthly meeting. It is scheduled for April 25th at 12 noon in the DC conference hall, Tseminyu. All DPDB members are requested to ensure their attendance.
