Dimapur, Nagaland – The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has officially announced the results for the Class 10 (HSLC) and Class 12 (HSSLC) board examinations for the year 2025. The eagerly awaited results bring forth the names of the top-performing students and provide a comprehensive overview of the academic performance across the state.

 

In the NBSE HSLC (Class 10) exams 2025, Lungyihangle Nring emerged as the state topper, securing an impressive 98.6%. Demonstrating exceptional academic prowess, Nring’s achievement is a testament to hard work and dedication. Similarly, Vikhono Senotsu achieved the highest score in the NBSE HSSLC (Class 12) exams 2025, securing a commendable 96.20%. Senotsu’s success highlights the high academic standards maintained by students in Nagaland. The overall pass percentage for the NBSE HSSLC (Class 12) exams 2025 stood at 82.44%, indicating a strong performance by the students who appeared for the higher secondary examinations. Meanwhile, the NBSE HSLC (Class 10) exams 2025 recorded an overall pass percentage of 75.16%. Out of the 22,313 students who appeared for the Class 10 board exams, a total of 16,771 students successfully passed. Notably, government schools recorded a lower pass rate of 48.41%.

 

An analysis of the NBSE Class 12 results 2025 reveals that female students outperformed their male counterparts. Out of the 16,365 students who appeared for the HSSLC Examination (7,424 male and 8,941 female), the pass rate for female students was significantly higher at 85.98%, compared to 78.17% for male students. Further breakdown of divisions among successful candidates in the Class 12 exams shows. Male: 2,519 secured first division, 3,210 second division, and 176 third division. Female: 4,452 achieved first division, 3,248 second division, and 120 third division. These figures underscore the strong academic performance of female students in the NBSE Class 12 examinations. 

 

The NBSE HSLC (Class 10th) board exams 2025 were conducted from February 12 to 24, 2025. Following closely, the NBSE HSSLC (Class 12) exams 2025 were held between February 11 and concluded on March 7. A total of 17,194 candidates participated in the NBSE HSSLC exam this year, held across 68 centres throughout the state. Officials reported that 546 of these candidates were appearing for compartmental examinations across various streams, while the main category saw the following distribution: 12,403 in Arts, 1,026 in Commerce, and 3,219 in Science. The Nagaland Board will release provisional result gazettes and will distribute marksheets and pass certificates to all registered institutions. NBSE Class 12th students will also have the facility to download their Migration Certificates from the official NBSE portal. Centre Superintendents can collect these crucial documents between May 2nd and May 6th. For students who are not satisfied with their results, the board provides an opportunity to apply for re-evaluation through the official NBSE website. Additionally, students who did not meet the minimum passing criteria will be able to appear for supplementary examinations. The dates for these supplementary exams will be announced by the board shortly after the declaration of the final results. This announcement brings closure to the academic year for thousands of students in Nagaland and marks the beginning of new opportunities for those who have successfully cleared the board examinations.
