Following the successful BRICS Summit, PM Modi embarked on his State Visit to Brasilia, arriving on Monday evening (local time) at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He was warmly received at the airport by Brazil’s Minister of Defence, Jose Mucio Monteiro Filho, a welcome made even more memorable by a vibrant traditional Brazilian Samba Reggae performance, which PM Modi graciously appreciated.

 

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, highlighted the significance of PM Modi’s arrival in Brasilia, stating on X, “Taking new strides in India- Brazil steadfast partnership. PM @narendramodi has landed in the capital city of Brasilia on a State Visit to Brazil.”
During his State Visit, PM Modi is slated to hold detailed bilateral discussions with President Lula da Silva, focusing on broadening the Strategic Partnership between India and Brazil. The agenda encompasses a wide array of mutual interests, including strengthening collaboration in trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people linkages.
