Nagaland witnessed a significant surge in its burgeoning technology and innovation ecosystem as Tech morphosis 3.0, the highly anticipated annual event organized by Nagabots Tech Ventures Pvt Ltd, successfully concluded at Hope Academy, Chümoukedima on May 2nd. This year’s edition drew an impressive 277+ participants hailing from over 14 schools and colleges across Nagaland, showcasing the immense potential and enthusiasm for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) among the state’s youth.
The event, with Hope Academy as the dedicated Venue Partner, benefited from the strong collaborative support of key organizations instrumental in promoting innovation and technology in Nagaland. These included Startup Nagaland, operating under the Industries & Commerce Department; the Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre, a division of the Planning Department; the Department of Information Technology & Communication (IT&C); the Department of Youth Resources & Sports; Matrix Enterprise, the authorized partner of ViewSonic; Appskilling; Print Impressions; and Advanced GIIT. This collective support underscores the unified commitment to fostering a tech-driven future for Nagaland.
According to a press release by Er Kedichol Khanyo, the dynamic Event Head of Techmorphosis 3.0, this year’s iteration marked a pivotal moment for Nagaland’s tech community by hosting the state’s first-ever Drone Race. This exciting addition captivated participants and spectators alike, highlighting the growing interest in cutting-edge technologies. Complementing the drone race was a diverse array of engaging STEM-focused competitions designed to challenge and inspire young minds. These included the strategic Robo Sumo, the creative App Inventor & Scratch Programming, the tactical Capture the Flag, the problem-solving Coding Hackathon, the physics-based Water Rocket Challenge, and the practical Electronics & Arduino Robotics.
The event’s vibrant atmosphere attracted a crowd of nearly 2,000 visitors, demonstrating the widespread community interest in fostering technological advancement among the younger generation. This significant turnout underscores the recognition of technology and innovation as crucial drivers for Nagaland’s future development.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Watisenla Kichu, setting a positive tone for the day. Sashizungla Ao, the esteemed Principal of Hope Academy, delivered a warm welcome address, emphasizing the importance of such platforms for student growth. Er Kevin Khezhie, the visionary Director of Nagabots, provided insightful remarks, outlining the objectives and significance of Techmorphosis. P Tokugha Sema, the Director of Industries & Commerce, delivered an inspiring speech, urging the young audience to actively embrace the skill sets demanded by Industry 4.0. Mhathung Kithan, the Senior Project Director of the Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre, further emphasized the transformative role of innovation in shaping the careers and the future workforce of Nagaland.
A particularly mesmerizing highlight of Techmorphosis 3.0 was a captivating drone show orchestrated by the Nagaland GIS & Remote Sensing Centre. This spectacular display of aerial technology enthralled both the participating students and the numerous visitors, leaving a lasting impression of the potential and artistry of drone technology.
