The Department of Power has announced planned power outages in the districts of Peren and Mon to allow for essential vegetation clearing and maintenance work on critical transmission lines. These scheduled shutdowns are necessary to ensure the reliability and stability of the power supply in the long term.


Power Shutdown in Peren District:

Residents and consumers in the Peren district are advised of an upcoming power shutdown affecting the 66kV Ganeshnagar Transmission Feeder. The shutdown will occur on the following dates and times:


 * May 7: 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM

 * May 8: 6:00 AM to 12:00 Noon


According to an official press release from the Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division, Dimapur, this power interruption will impact all consumers within the Peren district, and the areas supplied by the Ganeshnagar Substation. The Department of Power sincerely requests the cooperation of all affected individuals and expresses regret for any inconvenience this may cause.


Total Power Shutdown in Mon District:

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mon district, Pakon Phom, has announced a complete power shutdown across the district from May 5 to May 10. The power will be switched off daily between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

This extensive shutdown is crucial to facilitate necessary vegetation clearance along the 132kV and 66kV transmission lines under the jurisdiction of the Transmission Division, Mokokchung. The ADC has appealed to the general public in Mon district to extend their cooperation during this period. The administration acknowledges the inconvenience this total power shutdown will cause and seeks understanding from all residents.
